Dearborn, Mi. - On Friday June 10, 2016 Amber JOHNSON and James JOHNSON III, both Dearborn residents, were arraigned by the Honorable Judge Sam Salamey on charges of Homicide-2nd Degree Murder, Homicide-Involuntary Manslaughter, and Child Abuse 2nd Degree in the drowning death of their daughter. Bond was set at $1,000,000 and a Probable Cause Conference was set for Friday June 24, 2016. A Preliminary Exam date of Friday July 1st in 19th District Court.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy stated, "The alleged actions and inactions of the defendants in this case defy common sense. Once again we are left with a child, whose death was completely preventable."

On Thursday June 9, 2016 the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office authorized charges for the parents of the 2 year old girl that tragically drowned on June 3, 2016. The authorized charges are as follows:

Count 1: Homicide-2nd Degree Murder
Count 2: Homicide- Involuntary Manslaughter
Count 3: Child Abuse-2nd Degree

Both parents were taken into custody without incident and an arraignment is scheduled for Friday June 10, 2016 at 2:15pm in the Honorable Judge Sam Salamey's courtroom.
