Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Deonte Darrell Renfroe, 19 (DOB: 5/7/97), of Detroit, in connection with a fatal car crash that killed Charlotte Kish, 83, of Detroit. On July 3, 2016 at 7:11 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the scene of a car crash at East Outer Drive and Fenelon Street in Detroit. It is alleged that Renfroe was driving on East Outer Drive at a high rate of speed and struck the rear of another car that was stopped at a red light. Renfroe continued driving at a high rate of speed and struck an unoccupied parked truck that struck and killed the Ms. Kish.

Renfroe has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle. He was arraigned and remanded to jail today in 36th District Court. His probable cause conference will be held on July 15, 2015 at 8:30 a.m.; his preliminary examination will be held on July 21, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Shannon Holmes.
