Father Charged With Leaving His Two Young Children In His Car While At Motor City Casino
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Montez D'Angelo Sistrunk, 25 (DOB: 3/6/91), of Ypsilanti, with two counts each of Child Abuse Second Degree. On August 29, 2016 at approximately 10:30 a.m., it is alleged that Sistrunk left his two young children alone for an hour in his car located in the parking structure of the Motor City Casino in the 2900 block of Grand River. An employee of the casino observed the children and alerted a security guard who removed the children from the car.
The defendant was arraigned today in 36th District Court before Magistrate Millicent Sherman. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 7, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 13, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before 36th District Court Judge Shannon Holmes. Sistrunk received a $75,000/10% bond.
