Elaina L. Brown and Kelly Marie Williams - Defendants are CPS workers charged in connection with the death of three-year-old Aaron Minor. The cases have been re-scheduled and the preliminary examination will be held on December 19 and 20, 2016 before Judge Kenneth King. The dates were changed for the defense to obtain and review discovery materials.

Freeland Pridgen Fatal Shooting -The warrant continues to be reviewed. An update will be sent out when a decision is made. An arraignment is not expected this morning.

Detroit Man Charged in Homicide of Nephew

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged James Lee Graham, 48 (DOB: 08/11/1968), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of his 16-year-old nephew, Freeland Pridgen.

On November 25, 2016 at approximately 4:17 p.m., Detroit Police officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 9100 block of Ward in Detroit. It is alleged that defendant Graham and Pridgen got into a verbal altercation. During the argument, it is further alleged that Graham retrieved a shotgun from another room and it is alleged the gun discharged, striking the victim. Pridgen was transported to a local hospital for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Graham has been charged with Open Murder, FIP and FF.* He was arraigned on the warrant today in 36th District Court. The probable cause conference is scheduled for December 7, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for December 13, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Shannon Holmes in 36th District Court.

Detroit Man Charged in Attack on DDOT Bus Driver

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Willie DeQuan Lindsey, 34 (DOB: 3/31/1982), of Detroit, in connection with stabbing a Detroit Department of Transportation bus driver. On November 29, 2016 at approximately 10:30 p.m., it is alleged that Lindsey got on a Detroit Department of Transportation bus at McNichols and Greenfield when he is alleged to have demanded to be transported to a local hospital by the 51-year-old male bus driver. When the driver did not take him to the hospital, it is alleged that Lindsey cut the driver’s left cheek with a knife. Passengers on the bus restrained Lindsey until the police arrived and arrested him. The bus driver was taken to a local hospital and was treated for his injuries.

The defendant has been charged with Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm and Felonious Assault.* He was arraigned in 36th District Court today at 2:30 p.m. The probable cause conference is scheduled for December 8, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for December 14, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Shannon Holmes in 36th District Court.

River Rouge Man Charged in Dog Burning Case

Prosecutor Worthy has charged David Westly Didlake, 27, (DOB: 10/25/1989) of River Rouge with Animals - Killing/Torturing, Police Officer - Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing, Animals - Abandoning/Cruelty Resulting in Death of One Animal.* On October 29, 2016 at approximately 8:57 p.m., police were called to a location in the 80th block of East James Street and investigated a dead white dog that was observed to be burned near the bottle of an accelerant. As a result of the investigation, Didlake was arrested after it is alleged that he resisted the police at a home located in the 80th block of East James Street in River Rouge.

Today Didlake was arraigned in 25th District Court in Lincoln Park and received a $75,000 cash/surety bond. He will have his probable cause conference on December 13, 2016 and his preliminary examination on December 20, 2016.
