Charles Edward Britton III, 21 (DOB:11/230/94) has been charged by Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy in connection with the fatal shooting of his step-father Kenneth Taylor, 51, both of River Rouge. On May 23, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in a home in the 480 block of Campbell St. in River Rouge, it is alleged that the defendant had a verbal argument with his Mr. Taylor. Britton retrieved a handgun and fired multiple rounds at Mr. Taylor, fatally wounding him. The River Rouge Police were dispatched to the scene where they found Britton and arrested him. Mr. Taylor was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Britton has been charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Firearm. The defendant was arraigned this morning at 25th District Court. The probable cause conference is scheduled for June 7, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Clifton.
