Wayne County Commission District 6 to open community office April 30

Wayne County Commissioner Monique Baker McCormick (D-Detroit) will lead a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, April 30, highlighting the Grand Opening of the District 6 Community Office located at 20169 James Couzens. The event will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The public is invited and music and light refreshments will be served. "I am excited for the opportunity to have a presence like this in my district," Commissioner Baker McCormick said. "It will be beneficial to myself and my constituents as we can arrange times and dates to meet and discuss any and all matters that pertain to moving Wayne County forward." Commissioner Baker McCormick is in her first term after being elected to the position last November. She presently serves as vice-chair of the Commission's Committee on Health and Human Services, is also a member of the standing committees on Economic Development, Ways and Means and Public Safety, Judiciary and Homeland Security and is vice-chair of the Special Committee on Senior Citizens and Veterans Affairs.
