Detroit Woman Charged In Greenlawn Fatal Shooting
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Auroniece Jackson, 32 (DOB: 9/14/83), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Toney Lynn-Antonio Mason, a 32-year-old Detroit man. The defendant and Mason have children in common. On April 22, 2016 at approximately 7:09 p.m., Detroit Police Officers were called to the front of a location in the 15900 block of Greenlawn in Detroit and observed a male face down, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. It is alleged that Mason had a verbal argument with Auroniece Jackson prior to being shot. The defendant left in a car and came back to the Greenlawn location and shot and killed Mason.
Jackson has been charged with First Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. The defendant was arraigned in 36th District Court this morning before Magistrate Bari Blake Wood. The probable cause conference is scheduled for May 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for May 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.; both hearings are before 36th District Court Judge Patricia Jefferson.
