On Wednesday, July 26, 2017 Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Bobby Lee Collins, 47 (DOB: 05/31/1969), of Lincoln Park, in connection with a fatal car crash that killed David Wolf, 47, and injured Wilbert King. Collins was employed as a truck driver for Wayne County at the time of the crash. Wolf and King were also employed by Wayne County, repairing roads on the day of the crash.

On March 23, 2017 at approximately 10:39 a.m., near Van Born and Fellrath Roads in Taylor, it is alleged that Collins was driving a Wayne County truck when he crashed into Wolf and King as they were working filling asphalt on damaged portions of the road. Medics arrived at the scene and transported Wolf and King to a local hospital. Wolf died at the hospital from multiple injuries sustained in the crash. King was treated for serious injuries to his abdomen and leg that he sustained in the crash.

Collins has been charged with Reckless Driving Causing Death (Wolf), Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment (King), Work Zone Death and Work Zone Injury.* Collins was arraigned this morning before 23rd District Court Judge Geno Salomone. The probable cause conference is scheduled for August 7, 2017 at 12:55 p.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for August 14, 2017 at 12:55 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Salomone in 23rd District Court. The defendant received a $50,000 personal bond.
