Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of His Mother

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Jeremy Dijon Williams, 25 (9/2/88), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal stabbing death of his mother Pamela Williams, 54, at the family home where they both resided located in the 11800 block of Whithorn. On April 13, 2014 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Detroit police officers received a run to the home on Whithorn and were directed by a relative to a bedroom where the victim was observed in bed suffering from multiple stab wounds. Ms. Williams was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The defendant fled the location prior to the police arriving, but he later surrendered himself to the police on the same day.

Williams has been charged with Open Murder, a felony that carries a penalty of life in prison. He is expected to be arraigned in 36th District Court at 2:00 p.m. today. Please contact the Detroit Police Department for a photograph of the defendant.

Terrill Hardaway - The defendant was a Detroit Firefighter alleged to have fatally shot a disc jockey at Detroit club in December, 2012. Today he was bound over for trial on charges of Second Degree Murder and Felony Firearm. His arraignment on the information is scheduled for April 29, 2014. 

Robert Bashara - Grosse Pointe Park man charged in the murder of his wife Jane Bashara. Today Judge Vonda Evans appointed attorney Michael McCarthy to represent Bashara along with attorney Lillian Diallo. The judge will release the court schedule for the case later today. The motion date has scheduled for September 8, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. and the trial date is scheduled for October 6, 2014.

Windsor Police Officer Charged with Crossing Border with Narcotics

On the afternoon of April 12, 2014, off-duty Windsor police officer David M. B'Shouty, 31 (9/13/82), was arrested at the International Border Crossing/Ambassador Bridge. It is alleged that B'Shouty, was found to be in possession of cocaine at the time he was crossing into the United States from Windsor, Ontario. He was immediately taken into custody by Department of Homeland Security agents. On April 14, 2014, he was charged by Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy with Possession of under 25 Grams of a Narcotic and was arraigned by Judge Michael Wagner. He received a $25,000/ 10% bond and his preliminary examination is scheduled for April 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.

Deon Nunlee - DPD Officer charged in connection with a sexual assault of a woman while on a domestic violence run. The preliminary examination scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2014 has been adjourned until April 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. because new defense counsel has been retained by the defendant.

Parent Charged in Assault of Detroit School Principal

Today Keron Daniel Wilson, 34 (7/30/79), of Detroit has been charged with Aggravated Assault, a misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to one year in jail. On April 14, 2014 at approximately 10:45 a.m., Wilson went to Cooke Elementary School located in the 18000 block of Puritan to find out why his child was not allowed to participate in a school trip. Principal Philip Van Hooks, 40, spoke to Wilson and explained why his child was not allowed to go on the trip. Wilson became angry and it is alleged that he punched and bit the principal on the forearm.

Wilson was arraigned in 36th District Court today and received a $5000/10% bond. His pre-trial conference is scheduled before Judge Ronald Giles at 8:30 a.m.

Man Charged in Hit and Run Incident at Detroit Gas Station

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Bobby Maurice Cochran, 39, (2/2/75) in connection with driving his car into a 35-year-old Detroit man at a Valero gas station located in the 5800 block of Tireman. On April 7, 2014, at approximately 2:25 a.m., the 35-year-old victim went to the gas station to pick up his girlfriend because there was a man in a red car following her. When the victim arrived at the station, he saw Cochran and asked why he was following his girlfriend. When the victim and his girlfriend were walking away from station, it is alleged that Cochran accelerated his car, hit the victim and sped away from the scene. Detroit police responded to the scene to investigate and medics conveyed the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is continuing to be treated for his injuries in the hospital.

Cochran has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, Leaving the Scene of a Serious Personal Injury Accident, Driving Without a License Causing Serious Injury and Felonious Assault. Cochran may be arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court. Please confirm the arraignment time with the court.

Gabriel Lamount Cooper Charged in Three Detroit Homicide Cases

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Gabriel Lamont Cooper, 32 (2/6/82), of Muskegon Heights, in connection with three homicides.

On January 10, 2013, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the body of a 22-year-old Candest Mills, of Detroit, was found in front of a home in the 1600 block of Collingwood in Detroit. She was discovered dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation in the case has resulted in charging Cooper with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder, Larceny and Felony Firearm. The facts of the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

On November 26, 2012, the bodies of Larae Bowman, 30, and her brother Lavon Bowman, were discovered fatally shot in their home in the 20200 block of Yacoma in Detroit. Ms. Bowman died from multiple stab wounds and her brother died from a gunshot wound to the head. The investigation in the case has resulted in charging Cooper with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder, Torture and Felony Firearm. The facts of the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

On April 16, 2014 Cooper had a video arraignment on both cases and received a preliminary examination date of April 28, 2014 in 36th District Court at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Alicia JonesColeman.

Girlfriend and Boyfriend Charged in Fatal Car Crash Killing Four on I-94 Service Drive

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Erroll Ramone Milliner, 28 (2/14/85), and JeQuis TinaDominique Mayes, 24 (1/24/89), both of Detroit, in connection with a fatal car crash that killed four people that occurred on September 22, 2013 at 2:40 a.m. at Hurlbut Street and the I-94 Service Drive. Mayes was driving a Chrysler with three women when she and her boyfriend, Milliner, had a verbal argument. Mayes fled the scene in her car and Milliner pursued her in his Chevrolet. It is alleged that both defendants drove their car at high rates of speed. Mayes failed to stop at a stop sign and continued through an intersection crashing through fencing when her car went airborne, landing on a Ford traveling on eastbound I-94 containing a man and two women. Milliner also failed to stop at the stop sign and ran off the road disabling his vehicle.

All of the passengers in Mayes car were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Dkeya Hodges, 20 of Detroit, died at the hospital from injuries she sustained while riding in Mayes car. Mayes and the other female were treated for injuries they sustained in the crash. Jimmie Barnett, 71, Angie Battle, 52, and Rosie Glenn, 66, all of Detroit, were killed when Mayes car hit their Ford on I-94.

Erroll Ramone Milliner charges: Four counts of Second Degree Murder; four counts of Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle; four counts of Operating While Impaired Causing Death; four counts of Driving with License Suspended Causing Death.

JeQuis Tina-Dominique Mayes charges: Four counts of Second Degree Murder; four counts of Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle; four counts of Operating While Impaired Causing Death.

Milliner and Mayes were apprehended yesterday by the Detroit Police Department. We have been informed that they will be arraigned by video today in 34th District Court in Romulus between 11:30 a.m. and noon. Please contact the Detroit Police Department for photograph of the defendants.

Steven Utash - The preliminary examinations for all of the adult defendants will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Alicia Jones-Coleman of 36th District Court. The hearings will take place on the second floor of the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, located at 1441 St. Antoine in Detroit.

Man Charged in Fatal Assault at Detroit Gas Station

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Napoleon Turner III, 24 (11/28/89) of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Eric L. Miles, 39, of Detroit. On April 5, 2014, both men were at a Valero gas station located on W. 7 Mile Road and Pierson at approximately 2:20 in the afternoon when they had a physical altercation. It is alleged that Turner knocked Miles down and, while he lay motionless on the ground, Turner ran over him in a car. Once he struck Miles with the car, it is alleged that Turner backed the car up and then pulled forward, striking Miles again before driving away from the scene. Police investigation led to the arrest of the defendant.

Turner has been charged with First Degree Murder, a felony that carries a penalty of life in prison without parole. He is expected to be arraigned on Friday morning in 36th District Court.

Charles Jones - Defendant convicted of Second Degree Murder in the death of high school student Je'rean Blake. Today Judge Richard Skutt sentenced Jones to 40 years to 60 years on the Second Degree Murder charged and to 10 years to 20 years on the Perjury charge.
