Three Grosse Pointe Woods Women Charged in Detroit Graffiti Case

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged three Grosse Pointe Woods women in connection with spray painting buildings located in the 40 block of Michigan Avenue and in 1100 block of Griswold in Detroit. On June 22, 2014 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Isabella Mary Meteer, 18 (DOB: 2/16/96), Mackenzie Lynn Snitgen, 17 (DOB: 11/30/96) and Mary Elizabeth Harder, 17 (DOB: 9/20/96), all of Grosse Pointe Woods, are alleged to have participated in defacing two downtown buildings with graffiti.

The defendants are each charged with one count of Malicious Destruction of a Building $1000 to $20,000, a felony which carries a five year maximum penalty. The three defendants will be arraigned in 36th District Court today at 2:30 p.m.

Jeremy Jackson and Jamare Rucker - The sentence hearing took place today for the defendants charged in the murder of CVS guard. Jeremy Jackson was sentenced to 33-60 years in prison on Second Degree Murder, 10-20 years on two counts of Armed Robbery consecutive to 2 years for Felony Firearm. Jamare Rucker was sentenced to 33-60 years on Second Degree Murder , 10-20 on one count Armed Robbery, one count Carjacking, consecutive to 2 years for Felony Firearm before Judge Vera Massey Jones.

Steven Utash case - Today, Judge James Callahan sentenced defendant James Davis to five years probation, with the first year in the Wayne County Jail. WCPO will be filing a Motion for ReSentencing regarding the judge's sentence because it was under the defendant's guidelines of 19 to 38 months. It will be heard on July 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.

Co-defendant Latrez Cummings' sentence date is on Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Detroit Graffiti Case - Esabella Mary Meteer, Mackenzie Lynn Snitgen and Mary Elizabeth Harder - 

Defendants are each charged with one count of Malicious Destruction of a Building $1000 to $20,000. The three defendants were arraigned in 36th District Court today and each received a $5000 personal bond. They will have their pre-examination hearing on July 22, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Kevin Robbins.

Fredrick K. Young and Ferlando D. Hunter Charged in the 2012 Homicides of Westland Teens

The conclusion of an extensive investigation conducted by the Detroit Police Department, in conjunction with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, has resulted in homicide charges for Fredrick K. Young, 25 (DOB: 10/8/88) of Detroit and Fernando D. Hunter, 23 (DOB: 8/16/90), of Jackson, Michigan. The two defendants have been charged with the July, 2012 homicides of Jacob Kudla, 18 and Jourdan Bobbish, 17, both of Westland. On July 27, 2012 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Detroit police officers responded to a run to a field located at Lyford and French Road in Detroit. The officers observed the remains of two dead bodies that had suffered gunshot wounds and were later identified as Kudla and Bobbish. It is alleged that Young and Hunter robbed, tortured, imprisoned and killed both victims. More specific details of the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

Young and Hunter have each been charged with: First Degree Premeditate Murder, First Degree Felony Murder, Torture, Armed Robbery, Unlawful Imprisonment and Felony Firearm. Fredrick Young has been charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Both defendants were bound over as charged today and their arraignment on the warrant in Wayne County Third Circuit Court is scheduled for July 23, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
