Detroit Men Charged In Fatal Shooting During Southwest Detroit Candlelight Vigil

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Freddie Marshall, 36 (DOB 8/18/76), of Lincoln Park and Erick Peoples, 36 (DOB 8/9/76), of Detroit in connection with the fatal shooting of Antonio Kenton Booker, 27, of Detroit. On June 9, 2013, at approximately 10:12 p.m., at the location of Edsel and Francis Streets in Detroit, Antonio Booker and a large crowd of people were attending an antiviolence vigil for a shooting victim. It is alleged that Marshall and Peoples rode on bicycles to the scene armed with guns, when they fired shots into the crowd, fatally shooting Booker.

Freddie Marshall and Erick Peoples and have been charged with First Degree Murder, Felony Firearm and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. They are expected to be arraigned today at 1:00 p.m. in 36th District Court. Please contact the Detroit Police Department for photographs of the defendants.
