Latoiya Mitchell Thomas - Ms. Mitchell was convicted by a jury of Carrying a Concealed Weapon and acquitted of Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, Felonious Assault and Felony Firearm in connection with the August 2012 Detroit Princess River Boat shooting incident. The sentence will be held before Judge Megan Maher Brennan on June 3, 2013.

Man Charged in Westland Bomb Threat

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Sean W. Quigley*, 37 (1/20/76) in connection with a bomb threat that occurred on May 13, 201 at approximately 12:15 p.m. at the Westland City Hall, located at 3660 Ford Road. The bomb threat caused the building to be evacuated. During the incident it is alleged that Quigley falsely represented that he had explosives and that he held an employee captive. The employee was able to get away from the defendant and safely escape unharmed. After Westland Police and the Michigan State Police arrived, Quigley exited the building and was arrested by the police. The building was searched for explosives and none were found. Further details of the incident will be provided in court during the preliminary examination.

Quigley has been charged with Terrorism (Life or any term of years), Kidnapping (Life or any term of years), False Report of a Felony - Bomb (four years), False Report of a Felony - Threat of Terrorism (four years).

Quigley is expected to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. today in 18th District court in Westland. Please contact the Westland Police Department to request a photograph of the defendant.

*Quigley's city of residence was unreported by the police.

Maurice Abraham - 27, (DOB 3/7/86), of Detroit, has been arraigned today in connection with the May 11, 2013 stabbing and robbery of a 64-year- old man at a BP gas station located in the 20200 block of the Southbound Lodge. He was charged with one count each of armed robbery, assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and two counts of resisting and obstructing. He received a one million dollar bond. The preliminary examination is scheduled for May 29, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Please contact the police to request a photograph of the defendant.
