72-Year-Old Detroit Man Charged with Disinterment of a Body
Today Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Alphonso Douglas Jackson, 72 (DOB 4/7/41) of Detroit, with Disinterment of a Body (10 years), Tampering with Evidence (10 years) and Concealing the Death of a Person (five years). Disinterment is defined by statute as the act of mutilating, defacing, removing, or carrying away a portion of a dead body.
On May 3, 2013, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Detroit Police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex at 800 Dickerson on a well being check. When the officers arrived they observed blood on the sidewalk, inside the lobby and in elevator of the building. The police investigation led to Jackson's apartment where more blood was observed. When the police entered his apartment to check for injured occupants, it is alleged that the dismembered body of a female was found in Jackson's bathroom. Jackson was found sitting in his kitchen when the police placed him under arrest. The police investigation of the case is ongoing at this time.
Jackson was arraigned and remanded to jail today in 36th District Court. His preliminary examination is scheduled for May 14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. He was not represented by counsel at the arraignment today. Please contact the Detroit Police Department for a photograph of the defendant.
Robert Bashara - The case will be in 36th District Court on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. for a scheduling conference before Judge Kenneth King. The defendant is not expected to appear in court tomorrow.

Robert Bashara - Today the preliminary examination was adjourned by agreement of the parties until August 19, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. in 36th District Court in Detroit.
Dujuan Lee Ainsworth - Today the preliminary examination in 36th District Court was adjourned until May 30, 2013 at the request of the defendant's retained attorney Sterling Coleman.
Jeremy Yancey - Chesterfield Township man charged with Second Degree Murder in triple fatal car crash in Highland Park. Today the case was adjourned until May 28, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Yancey is represented by appointed counsel Gabi Silver.

Northville Man Charged with Torturing Infant
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Dylan James Dunlap, 19 (DOB 6/23/93), of Northville, with Torture (Life or any term of years), Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm (10 years), Child Abuse-First Degree (15 years) and Assault or Assault and Battery (93 day Misdemeanor). On May 6, 2013, at an apartment located in the 19400 block of Northridge Drive, it is alleged that Dunlap was entrusted with the care of his girlfriend's 23-month-old nephew while she went to the store. It is further alleged that he struck the child multiple times on head, torso and legs, and held a lighter to the child's skin causing burns on his chest, palm thumb and wrist.
We have just been informed by the Northville Police Department that Dunlap was arraigned in 35th District Court in Plymouth and he received a $1M bond. The preliminary examination will be held on May 17, 2013, 8:30 a.m. Please contact the Northville Police Department to request a photograph of the defendant.
