Robert Tyus - Transit Officer charged with Manslaughter and Felony Firearm in connection with the shooting of Jordan West-Morson at a gas station on East 8 Mile Road. The preliminary examination was adjourned today because the defendant retained new counsel. The case will be heard on October 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. before Alicia A. Jones-Coleman.

Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Shooting
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Thyrone* D. Evans, 32 (DOB 5/3/81) of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Cleveland Dunklin, 23, also of Detroit. It is alleged that Mr. Dunklin observed the defendant driving an SUV at a high rate of speed at approximately 7:00 p.m. on September 30, 2013, in the 13900 block of Braile Street in Detroit. Mr. Dunklin shouted at the driver to slow down because children were playing in the area. It is alleged that at approximately 7:50 p.m., the defendant returned to the area and fatally shot Mr. Dunklin in front of a home located in the 13900 block of Braile. The victim was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
Evans is charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder and Felony Firearm. We have now been informed that he was arraigned this morning in 36th District Court and his preliminary examination is scheduled for October 8, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Alicia Jones-Coleman.

Lavere Bryant -Dearborn Family Dollar Store double homicide defendant was bound over on all charges. The arraignment on the information is on Friday, October 11, 2013 before Judge Dana Hathaway.
