Alleged Altercation Involving a Pittsburgh Official - The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has received a warrant request in connection with an alleged altercation that occurred on March 6, 2019 at 12:17 a.m. at the Weston Book Cadillac Hotel involving a Pittsburgh official. The matter is currently being reviewed. No further information will be released until a charging decision is made. The decision is not expected today.
DPD Commander Johnny Thomas - DPD commander charged with Operating While Impaired with a High BAC and Possession of a Firearm While Under the influence of Alcohol, in connection with a car incident that occurred on January 26, 2019 at Mack and St. Antoine. Today motion hearings in the case were scheduled for April 15, 2019 before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court.

Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Car Crash
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged JC Deandrey Hogan, 30 (DOB: 11/22/1988) of Detroit, in connection with a fatal car crash that killed Gregory Anderson, age 62, also of Detroit.
On March 16, 2019 at approximately 8:43 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the scene of a hit-and-run that occurred at Van Dyke Avenue and East Seven Mile Road in Detroit. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the victim in the roadway. Medics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to the hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries. Further, the defendant and his nine-year-old son were located in their vehicle, which had been driven off the roadway into a nearby tree. The child had a minor injury to his head that was treated by medics at the scene.
It is alleged that the defendant was driving under the influence of alcohol when he struck and killed Mr. Anderson. Further facts and evidence will be presented at the Preliminary Examination.
Hogan has been charged with Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, Driving While License Suspended Causing Death and Operating While Intoxicated with Occupant Under 16 years of age.* He was arraigned this morning in 36th District Court before Magistrate Bari Blake Wood. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 1, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 8, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Michael Wagner in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $100,000/10% bond.

Detroit Juvenile Faces Weapons Charges
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged a 15-year-old male juvenile in connection with an attempt to carry a weapon into Mumford High School in Detroit.
On March 19, 2019 at approximately 9:00 a.m., upon entering his school, the juvenile respondent passed through the metal detector and triggered the alarm. A search of his backpack resulted in the recovery of a firearm. It is alleged that the juvenile respondent was carrying a concealed weapon and a replica of a handgun into his high school.
The juvenile respondent has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of a Facsimile Firearm.* He is expected to have a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at the Juvenile Detention Center. An update will be sent out after the hearing.

Pittsburgh Controller Chelsa Wagner and Husband Khari Mosley
Charged In Altercation with Detroit Police Officers
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Chelsa Wagner, 41 (DOB: 07/24/1977), and her husband Khari Mosley, 42 (DOB: 03/22/1976), of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in connection with an altercation that occurred at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit.
On March 6, 2019, at approximately 12:17 a.m., police were called to the hotel to investigate a disturbance that was created by Mr. Mosley at the reception desk, in the elevator area, and the entry way of the hotel. He was irate that hotel personnel would not allow him up to the room which was registered only in his wife's name, when he did not have a room key. The hotel manager called the room and no one answered the phone. When the police arrived, it is alleged that he was gesturing and speaking loudly in a confrontational manner to the hotel staff. During their investigation, the police went to Ms. Wagner's room to confirm that Mr. Mosley was her husband. After Ms. Wagner confirmed the information, Mr. Mosley eventually calmed down and was allowed into the room by the police.
While the police were leaving, but still in the hallway, they heard a loud noise and shouting inside the room. This caused them to return to the room to investigate. They advised Ms. Wagner that hotel security requested that her husband leave. Ms. Wagner was informed that hotel security would allow her to remain in the room. When an officer tried to remove Mr. Mosley, Ms. Wagner prevented the officer from taking action. It is alleged that she put her arm on him, and when he moved her arm to get into the room, she pushed his hand away.
Mr. Mosley was placed in handcuffs, and as the officers and hotel security walked him to the elevator, it is alleged that Ms. Wagner blocked the elevator door. The officer with Mr. Mosley asked Ms. Wagner to move several times and she continued to block the elevator door. It is alleged that she grabbed and pushed the officer and he used his arm to move her during the assault, and she fell to the floor. Ms. Wagner was placed under arrest for assaulting the officer. While the officer attempted to handcuff her, she resisted and was uncooperative. She was taken to the Detroit Detention Center. Her husband, who was no longer causing a disturbance, was not arrested and was allowed to go to a nearby hotel.
Prosecutor Worthy said, "The officers involved in this case used remarkable restraint while dealing with the combined actions of these defendants. The evidence will show that during the incident Ms. Wagner and Mr. Mosley disparaged the officers and the hotel employees."
Charges for Chelsa Wagner
Ms. Wagner has been charged with two counts of Resisting and Obstructing the Police, a felony carrying a maximum penalty of two years, and one count of Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of 90 days.*
Charges for Khari Mosley
Mr. Mosley has been charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct, and one count of Disturbing the Peace. Both charges are misdemeanors with a maximum penalty of 90 days.*
Arrangements will be made for the defendants to turn themselves in for arraignment at 36th District Court.
