Deandre Simmons - Defendant who drove his vehicle striking and killing a senior man outside of the Detroit Shinola store in June 2017. The defendant pled guilty as charged (1) Reckless Driving Causing Death, (2) DWLS Causing Death, (3) Reckless Driving Causing Serious Injury and (4) DWLS Causing Serious Injury. Judge Heise sentenced Simmons to four years to 15 years in prison for Counts 1 and 2. She also sentenced him to two years to five years in prison for Counts 3 and 4.

Russell Govett - Defendant charged in connection with the February 2, 2017 triple homicide on Sherwood Street in Detroit. The jury trial previously set for November 22, 2017 before Judge Wanda Evans is now scheduled to begin jury selection on December 11, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.

O'Reilly Auto Store Homicide - The Probable Cause Conference for Defendants Shawnta Anderson and Leviticus Butler was adjourned to November 29, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Lewis-Langston. The Probable Cause Conference for Defendant Eboni McEwen-Ross is on November 29, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Nance-Adams. It is anticipated that at the Probable Cause Conferences, the three defendants will have their cases consolidated for the Preliminary Examination on December 6, 2017.

Aaron Rashad Stewart and Quentin Davon Flemons - Highland Park case - Today the prosecution was not able to proceed and the case was dismissed without prejudice. This means that it is possible for the case to re-charged at a later date. The defendants were remanded to jail because
they have cases in Detroit and Hamtramck which have been bound over for trial in Wayne county Circuit Court.

Charles Marion Brown and Jujuan Alexon Williams - Charged with armed robber and non-fatal shooting of a transgender woman - The Probable Cause Conference was held today. The Preliminary Examination for Brown and Williams will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 9 am in front of Judge Langston. Both defendants are being held on a 1.5 million cash bond.

O'Reilly Auto Parts Store Homicide of James Haller - Today the Probable Cause Conference was held before Judge Deborah Lewis Langston. The motion to consolidate the cases of Defendants Shawnta S. Anderson, 23 (DOB: 05/29/1994), Leviticus V. Butler, 38, (DOB: 11/09/1978), and Eboni McEwen-Ross, 28 (DOB: 06/15/1989), all of Detroit, was granted by the court. The Preliminary Examinations for Eboni McEwen-Ross and Leviticus Butler are scheduled for December 19th at 11:00am. Shawnta Anderson was referred for competency and a review date was set by the court in 60 days from today.

Timothy Eubanks and Samantha Eubanks - Dearborn defendants charged in connection with the non-fatal shooting of two young children while in the unlicensed daycare operated in the couple's home on Harding Street in Dearborn. Due to scheduling issues one of the defense attorneys requested an adjournment. The Preliminary Examination has been adjourned from this Friday, until January 19, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.

Anthony Williams 40, (DOB: 08/16/1977) Homeless - Defendant charged in connection with the shooting of a 55-year-old Highland Park man on November 28, 2017 in the 240 block of Tennyson Street in Highland Park. Williams is charged with: Assault with Intent to Murder, Discharge Firearm at a Dwelling Causing Serious Injury, Assault with Intent to Cause Great Bodily Harm, Felonious Assault, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and five counts of Felony Firearm*. Williams is expected to be arraigned today at 2:00 p.m. before Judge Bridget Officer in 30th District Court in Highland Park. Please contact the Highland Park Police Department for a photograph of the defendant.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
