Statement of Prosecutor Kym Worthy on the Passing of Congressman John Conyers

Detroit Man Charged in Carjacking and Armed Robbery Crime Spree

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Edward Mack Anderson, 27 (DOB: 07/31/1992) of Detroit, in connection with a series of crimes, including a carjacking, felonious assaults and armed robberies that occurred throughout Detroit between early February 2019 and late October 2019.

It is alleged that the defendant fired three shots at the female driver who had just exited the northbound Lodge Freeway at Wyoming Avenue.

Anderson has been charged with Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Felony Firearm.*

April 9, 2019 at approximately 5:37 p.m.

It is alleged that the defendant brandished a firearm at the same previous victim in the 15100 block of Greenfield Avenue in Detroit.

Anderson has been charged with Felonious Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Felony Firearm.*

September 28, 2019 at approximately 2:55 a.m.

It is alleged that the defendant carjacked a 27-year-old male and a 28-year-old female at a gas station in the 11600 block of Schaefer Avenue in Detroit.

Anderson has been charged with Carjacking, two counts of Armed Robbery, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property - Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and six counts of Felony Firearm.*

October 5, 2019 at approximately 12:10 a.m.

It is alleged that as a 53-year-old male was walking in the area of Tireman Street and Southfield Road, a vehicle pulled up and the armed defendant driver exited the vehicle and robbed the victim of his clothing and personal property.

Anderson has been charged with Armed Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Felony Firearm.*

October 5, 2019 at approximately 12:25 a.m.

A 27-year-old male was walking in the area of Diversey and Mansfield when it is alleged that a vehicle pulled up and the defendant driver pulled a weapon, struck him in the head with the weapon and robbed him of his clothing and personal property.

Anderson has been charged with Armed Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Felony Firearm.*

October 9, 2019 at approximately 11:00 p.m.

A 20-year-old male was walking in the area of Scotten Street and Scoval Street in Detroit when, it is alleged, a vehicle pulled up and the defendant driver exited the vehicle, pulled a weapon and robbed the victim of his personal property.

Anderson has been charged with Armed Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Felony Firearm.*

October 24, 2019 at approximately 11:55 p.m.

An 18-year-old male victim was walking northbound on Cass Avenue near Selden when, it is alleged, the defendant driver pulled up on the victim, exited the vehicle and pointed a weapon at the victim. The victim was able to escape on foot.

Anderson has been charged with Felonious Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Felony Firearm.*

October 24, 2019 at approximately 10:58 p.m.

The male victim was walking southbound on Second Avenue near Hancock when, it is alleged, a car drove up on him, the defendant driver exited the vehicle, pointed a weapon at the victim and robbed him of his personal items.

Anderson has been charged with Armed Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Felony Firearm.*

Anderson was arraigned on these cases on October 28, 2019 before 36th District Court Magistrate Dawn M. White. The Probable Cause Conferences are scheduled for November 11, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examinations are scheduled for November 18, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. All hearings are before Judge Ronald Giles in 36th District Court. The defendant was remanded to jail.

Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Car Crash Killing Two Women

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Marvin Dismuke ( DOB: 11/03/1985), of Detroit, in the death of a 52-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman, both of Detroit. On October 28, 2019 at 8:10 a.m., it is alleged that Dismuke was driving his truck at a high rate of speed on Greenfield Road and Grand River Avenue in Detroit when he disregarded a traffic signal and crashed into the passenger side of a sedan driven by a 52-year-old woman as she was making a left turn onto Grand River. As a result of the crash the woman driving the sedan and her 20-year-old daughter in the front passenger seat were trapped inside of the car. The Detroit Fire Department removed the two women from the car, and they were transported to a local hospital where they were both pronounced deceased.

Dismuke had his three children in the car at the time of the crash. They were all transported to Children's Hospital for treatment. Dismuke's three-year-old son suffered a broken femur.

The defendant has been charged with two counts Reckless Driving Causing Death and one count Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment of a Body Function.* He will be arraigned today at 2:00 p.m. in 36th District Court. . Ronald Buckley and Leah Maynard - Former Westland officials charged in the December 10, 2017 Westland jail death of inmate William Marshall. Today a jury found former Westland Sgt. Buckley not guilty of Misconduct in Office. A mistrial was declared in the Misconduct In Office jury trial of former Westland EMT Maynard. Her pretrial conference is scheduled for December 6, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., before Judge Regina Thomas.

Matt Dicosola - Former Westland EMT charged in the December 10, 2017 Westland jail death of inmate William Marshall. On August 5, 2019 Dicosola pleaded guilty to Medical Records - Intentionally Placing False Information on Chart. Today he received one year of probationary sentence and court costs.

Detroit Man Charged with Driving Over Two-Year-Old Girl

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Michael Fogle, 36 (DOB: 02/07/1983), of Detroit, in connection with driving his car over a two-year-old girl. On October 25, 2019, at 6:52 p.m., while standing outside a house in the 13690 block of Mecca Street, Fogle had an altercation with a man. As Fogle drove away from the location, it is alleged that he backed his car intothe man's two-year-old niece and drove away from the scene. The child was privately transported to a local hospital for treatment of multiple injuries.

Fogle has been charged with: Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment of a Body Function; Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Causing Serious Impairment;; and two counts of Felonious Assault - Motor Vehicle.* The magistrate did not authorize the Operating While License Suspended Causing Serious Injury charge stating that information supporting the charge was not contained in the police report. He was arraigned today in 36th District Court and his Probable Cause Conference is on November 14, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. and his Preliminary Examination is on November 21. 2019. Fogle received a 100,000/10% bond and must have no contact with the victims. Please ask the Detroit Police Department for a photograph of the defendant after the arraignment.
