Brothers Charged in Robbery and Fatal Shooting on Seven Mile and Harlow

Prosecutor Worthy has charged Korie Trimble, 27 (DOB: 02/22/1992), and his brother DeCarlos Trimble, 29 (DOB: 07/02/1989), in connection with the homicide of Martez Bonner, 22, all of Detroit. On March 16, 2019 at 5:30 p.m., Detroit Police officers were dispatched to West Seven Mile and Harlow. When they arrived, they observed Bonner with a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. A female victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that Korie Trimble robbed the victims and, during the course of the robbery, fatally shot Bonner and the female victim, who survived. It is also alleged that DeCarlos Trimble aided and abetted his brother in the armed robbery, murder and non-fatal shooting of the female victim.

Korie Trimble is charged with Felony Murder, First Degree Premeditated Murder, Assault With Intent to Murder, two counts of Robbery Armed, Felon In Possession of a Firearm, and six counts of Felony Firearm.* DeCarlos Trimble is charged with Felony Murder, two counts of Robbery Armed and three counts of Felony Firearm.*

The defendants were arraigned today in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conferences are scheduled for April 5, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examinations are scheduled for April 12, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Cylenthia Miller in 36th District Court. Both defendants were remanded to jail.
