Harrison Township Man Charged in Detroit Homicide

On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged David Erwin Unger, 55, (DOB: 06/05/1963), of Harrison Township, in connection with the homicide of Mark Siecinski, 56, of Clarkston, and the non-fatal shooting of a 63-year-old man of Farmington. On September 29, 2018 at 6:20 p.m., the two male victims went to Mr. Unger's business in the 11800 block of Freud in Detroit to appraise and secure the property, since Unger's property was under the control of the courts for debts that were owed. It is alleged that Unger, armed with a hand gun, saw the men and fatally shot Mr. Siecinski multiple times. The 63-year-old man was shot and survived.

Unger has been charged with First Degree Murder, Assault with Intent to Murder, and two counts of Felony Firearm.* He was arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36th District Court. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for October 24, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 31, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Cylenthia Miller in 36th District Court.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
