Two Charged with Marijuana Sales in Highland Park Subway Sandwich Shop

On October 16, 2017, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Raymon Anthony Morgan, 35 (DOB: 10/31/1981) of Detroit, and Shantez Thomas-John Beauford, 20 (DOB: 02/12/1997), of Grosse Pointe, in connection with the sale of marijuana from a Subway Sandwich Shop.

Between October 10, 2017 and October 12, 2017, Highland Park police officers conducted surveillance on the Subway Sandwich Shop located in the 14300 block of Woodward Avenue in Highland Park. On October 13, 2017, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Highland Park Police officers went to the location.

Defendant Morgan has been charged with Firearm - Felon in Possession, Delivery/Manufacture of Marijuana and two counts of Felony Firearm*. Defendant Beauford has been charged with Delivery/Manufacture of Marijuana*. Both defendants have been arraigned on the warrant. Their probable cause conference is scheduled for October 24, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Officer-Hill in 30th District Court. Defendant Morgan received a $50,000 cash/surety bond; Defendant Beauford received a $25,000 cash/surety bond.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
