Harper Woods High School Student Charged with Disturbing the Peace

On October 24, 2017at approximately 11:00 a.m. at Harper Woods High School, located in the 20200 block of Beaconsfield, it is alleged that a juvenile Harper Woods High School student (DOB: 02/11/2003) was seen taunting and making hand a gesture toward a fellow student. The alleged behavior was observed by a staff member and the respondent was suspended pending an investigation.

Today Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged the juvenile respondent with one count of Disturbing the Peace and one count of Assault and Battery*. He was arraigned this afternoon before Referee Nick Bobak at the Juvenile Detention Facility and he received a personal bond of $1,000 with the condition that he have no contact with the victim or any witnesses. He will have a Pre-Trial Hearing scheduled on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. before Referee Mona Youssef at the Lincoln Hall of Justice.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
