Second Defendant Charged in Inkster Case
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Raphael Hearn, aka Rapheal Hearn, 29 (DOB: 11/14/1984) of Inkster, with First Degree Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearm. On July 1, 2014, at approximately 8:30 p.m., at a location in the 30000 block of Carlyle in Inkster, it is alleged that Hearn participated in the fatal shooting of a two-year-old infant girl and the non-fatal shootings of a 13-year-old female and a 26-year-old male. The infant girl is the daughter of the 26-year-old male. The facts and evidence in the case will be presented in court.
On July 5, 2014, Hearn was arraigned and remanded to jail. His preliminary examination will be held on July 16, 2014 before Judge Sabrina Johnson.
"The alleged facts in this case, including the deliberate shooting that killed an infant and injured a young girl, are among the most heinous that I have ever seen," said Prosecutor Worthy.
