Web Team Rolls Out Upgrade to Pay Taxes Online Page

The popular Pay Taxes Online feature re-launched with a format and performance upgrade in June for the offices of Wayne County Treasurer Eric R. Sabree. Early response has been positive.

The Application Development and Integration team at DoIT completed a user interface redesign that makes the tool more consistent in style and performance with the waynecounty.com website as a whole. It also becomes more platform-neutral, improving performance on tablets and certain mobile phones, and helps user experience by better separating and displaying record lists.

Pay Taxes Online is an online assistance tool that helps property owners pay due or delinquent taxes, schedule electronic payments, look up receipts for recent payments and access the Property Tax Listing (PTL) database for delinquent tax information in all county municipalities.

It is consistently one of the highest-trafficked pages on waynecounty.com, accounting for more than one-third of total site visits - so traditionally it's a source of some user difficulty reports as well. While the service has at times logged multiple user feedback issues in a single day, these have largely abated since the relaunch.

Summer tax bills go out to county residents, businesses and nonprofits this month. Consult your local municipal treasurer on payment due dates and assessments.
